Project Description
BIG DREAMS, BIGGER GOALS, AND THE BIGGEST POT STILL IN THE STATE
Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, this distillery is not only the first in Boulder County, but also a pioneer of the American craft spirits movement.

FERMENTED, DISTILLED AND BOTTLED IN A DISTINCT ENVIROMENT
Shaped by the surrounding high desert Rocky Mountain environment, Boulder Spirits embrace Colorado’s distinct temperamental climate. Along with a technical distilling style, glacier-melt water, and aging at 5,430 feet, these spirits truly represent what Boulder has to offer.
The backbone of our distilling operation lies in our Forsyths still, commissioned in Scotland by one of the oldest still makers in the world, and customized to achieve the flavour profile sought after. Combined with non-GMO grains, new world aging techniques, and the finest Arapaho Glacier melt water, Boulder Spirits is a leader in the Colorado distilling community and beyond.

JUMPING THE POND
Scotsman Alastair Brogan arrived in Boulder, Colorado with a lifelong passion for whiskey and a dream of distilling his own. Built around a 1300 gallon Scottish copper pot still, his dream is now being realized with the creation of his range of small batch American single malt whiskies along with a line of award winning gins, liqueurs and Bourbon.
Using the finest grain, the purest Colorado water and aging in the dry, heavily fluctuating temperatures and high elevation of the Rocky Mountain foothills, the complexity of the barley grain marries beautifully with the flavours from the virgin American Oak to create these uniquely Colorado flagship spirits. Boulder Spirits is the brand name for Vapor Distillery’s range of spirits.

THE START OF A MOVEMENT

Unbeknownst to Alastair during his pursuit of whiskey, an entire movement was abrew. Since the day that Boulder filed their first first freshly charred, virgin American Oak barrel with malt whiskey to the day that they filled their first bottle, the American Single Malt Whiskey category was born.
Around the US, as well as the world, the taste for American Whiskey has grown. This innovative mindset shared by distillers across the States has created an entirely new set of flavours to explore; these flavors all begin with one common source: 100% malted barley. Currently, there are over 130 distilleries that have ventured into the American Single Malt Whiskey realm, each with as different of an approach to creating whiskey from each other as the next. Single malt whisky is made in many, many countries around the world, but only the United States utilizes the virgin American Oak as a standard. This is believed to be the truest defining characteristic of American whiskey.

BARLEY, YEAST, WATER, OAK, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS
Tradition and ingenuity creates a balance that produces award winning whiskeys: distillers malted barley, a Scottish pot still, #3 char American White Oak barrels, aged in an arid, high elevation climate, and cut with the celebrated Eldorado Springs water.
This is Boulder American Single Malt.
